Ways to Support your Swimmer between lessons
Make Bath Time Count
Let kids splash, pour water over their heads, and blow bubbles
Gently encourage putting their face in the water to build comfort
Practice Breathing
Try blowing bubbles in a bowl of water or the bathtub.
Count 1, 2, 3 and have them take a big breath in
Do Dryland Practice
Practice arm movements for scoops
Do flutter kicks lying on a couch or the floor
Try simple balance games or kids' yoga for better floating skills
Watch and Learn Together
Watch short swim demonstration videos online, or clips from recent Olympics
Talk about what they're learning in lessons to reinforce key ideas
Talk about the pool in a positive manner
Celebrate Small Wins
Praise progress like "going underwater" or "great kicks today"
Help kids set small goals they can feel proud of achieving
Stay Consistent
Regular lessons with home practice will lead to faster progress and more confidence
Tip: Even 10–15 minutes of water play or skill-building a few times a week can keep your swimmer progressing happily and safely.
